Weekly issues, price two pence. First six issues are called 'Hog's Wash, or a Salmagundy for Swine'. Afterwards the title changes to 'Politics for the People, or Hog's wash'. Radical journal containing ironic pieces, satires, poems, extracts from Godwin and Helena Maria Williams, letters from the Patriotic Society of Sheffield, the Society of the Friends of the People in Edinburgh, the Society of United Irishmen, the Society for Constitutional Information etc. The early issues of Vol. 1 are mostly undated. Issue 2 appeared on 2 October 1793, issue 6 on 2 November 1793. From issue 11 on (21 December 1793), dates are provided. Issues in vol. 1, part 2 (starting on 30 January 1794) are undated. Eaton published vol. 1, part 2 from Newgate prison. Vol. 2 starts in April 1794. Vol. 2, no. 24 is the first issue of 1795. Vol. 2, no. 30 is the journal's last issue.
