Notes
Placeholder title. Title page of the copy in the British Library is lost. The book contains an abbreviated adaptation of 'A preservative against religious liberty' in four chapters. The epistolary form of the source text is not retained. It is followed by the integral translation of 'The moseiade', introduced by a preface. The 'Examen critique du Nouveau Testament', included in the source text, is not translated. Both works were attributed to Fréret at the time, whereas the real author of Préservatif contre les préjugés was d'Holbach.
The translation was made by Eaton while he was imprisoned in Newgate.
