Louis-Alexandre Delalain (also known as Delalain le jeune) was the son of a notary from Vitry-le-François and the younger brother of Paris bookseller Nicolas-Augustin Delalain. He took up an apprenticeship under his brother in July 1773 and became a bookseller in his own right on 25th March 1777. He was still active in March 1798.
