Notes

Url to the 3rd Naples edition, correctly identified as translated from the French but incorrectly identified as the first Italian edition. An earlier 1802 edition, published in Pisa, is recorded in two bookseller's catalogues, but no copy has yet been found. Loretelli & Dunkley suggest that this 1822 was heavily censored suggesting that the earlier version may have been destroyed , pp.32-37.
