Notes

In the translator's preface there is a clear defence of the French invasion of Italy because they freed Italians from the previous monarchical regimes. To show the baseness of monarchy the translator, an active member of the Bologna Constitutional Society and a journalist of the Quotidiano Bolognese, published all decrees concerning the treason of Louis XVI and the accusation against him.
