Notes

Becket and de Hondt's English edition of Rousseau's 'Du Contrat Social' came out two years after their edition of 'Emile', using the same translator, William Kenrick. Kenrick went on to translate all five volumes of 'The miscellaneous Works of Mr J.J. Rousseau' (1767).
