Notes

No radical content in itself, but interest in translation probably sparked by French campaign in Egypt and Syria. Review in Journal typographique et bibliographique, vol. II, n. 24 (10 germinal year 7), p. 186: 'Ce Voyage est comme l'itinéraire de la brillante entreprise par les belliqueuses légions français et leur invincible général. On y lit avec intérêt le tableau des objets d'importations et d'exportations pour ces contrées lointaines'.
