From the Letter from the Author to the Editor: 'I could not eaſily avoid, in my narrative, the terms king, general, palace, and the like, and be intelligible to the English reader. For example: what I call palace, is, in the language of the country, fimbomy ; which ( literally tranflated) means, a big house. This might have founded aukwardly, and I have therefore adopted the correfponding term moſt familiar to an English ear'.
