Summary (extracted citations)

Notes

This epic prose poem in ten books, an epic account of the Dutch war for independence from Spain, was a greatly expanded reworking of the author's 'Guillaume, en dix chants' (Amsterdam, 1773) and 'Guillaume de Nassau' (Paris, 1775). It was reissued in a second, corrected edition in 1804 (see url).
