Notes

Custodi published two small extracts of Saint Just's work: the first appeared in n. 16 (29-07-1800), the second in n. 20 (12-08-1800). In both cases Custodi introduced the translation with a positive appreciation of Saint Just radical activism and praising him as a republican example. Custodi's translation of the French text appeared after the publication in Naples of Saint Just's work.
