Notes

Preface in the form of a substantial essay by Garnier, in three parts: 1 a comparison between the ideas of Smith and French economists, 2 a method to facilitate the study of Smith's book, 3 a comparison between the wealth of France and of England, according to the principles of Smith. Followed by a 'Notice sur la vie et les ouvrages de Smith', possibly older. Garnier also added explanatory footnotes throughout the book.
