Heading 'Libertà e uguaglianza', dedication 'al cittadino Villetard'. Cioni gives an account of the translation process, explaining that before embarking in it he sent Villetard a sample, which he was happy about and led him to correct his own French original in view of a second edition (which never happened). So he flatters himself that his Italian translation is more correct and up-to-date than the French edition. Cioni reproduces in a note Villetard's original dedication to the Italians and exhortation to set aside factionalism and conquer freedom. Signs with 'salute e fratellanza'.
