This translation was duly presented and registered by the "Comitato di Pubblica istruzione il 6 pratile, 25 maggio 1797 v.s. per la sola salvezza della proprietà". At the end of the essay there is a short appendix (Notizia) where the translator reminded to his readership that Rousseau paved the way to the French revolution and the National Assembly recognised its debt towards the thinker with having a statue of him in the room where all deputies gathered. Moreover Rousseau was pantheonised in 1791. See pp.206-207.
