From the Advertissement, translated from the French: 'We have taken our materials from the best sources, and chiefly from the Feuille Villageoise of Mr. Cerutti, whose excellent work is so analogous to our present undertaking'. Expressly aimed at young people. Cerutti used the Feuille Villageoise to educate the inhabitants of the French countryside about the principles of the French Revolution and the Constitution.
