Radical Translations

Team members and KCL students visited fascinating exhibition at UCL Art Museum.

In the spring of 2020, UCL Art museum exhibited a selection if its magnificent collection of French revolutionary prints, focusing on public violence. Curator prof. Colin Jones gave us a tour of these remarkable visible reminders of a particularly radical moment in revolutionary history. He also introduced participants to his ongoing research project on the life and letters of Innocente-Catherine de Rougé d’Elbeuf, a French duchess and front-seat witness of the French Revolution, whose voluminous correspondence was only recently rediscovered.

See the exhibition website and the Revolutionary Duchess project website.
