These poems were published together fifteen years after their first appearance in French. They included Peruvian Tales, The Bastille, a Vision, Edwin and Eltruda, a legendary tale, Ode to peace, On the bill which was passed in England for regulating the Slave-trade; a short time before its abolition and Lines written on the pillar erecting to the memory of Mr. Barlow etc.
Many of these had been published separately earlier, in 1786, 1788 and 1791 (by T. Cadell); and 1796 (by Vernor and Hood).
