Pig's meat, vol. 1 (1793), p. 132-134. Fragment from chapter 2 of Candide. Anti-war piece, probably meant as criticism of wars waged for the glory of kings. The title is ironic. The translation cannot be traced to one of the two known 18th-century English translations of Candide. The fragment was later republished in The Chartist Circular (Glasgow) of 12 June 1841 under the title "Attention" Lads - "Will you enlist?".
