Notes

This is a parody of the official 'Livre rouge' using a false publisher. Each entry was followed by the author's observations on the character of the person receiving the pension. It reflected an outraged public opinion at the revelation of this extensive list of royal pensions during a time of acute financial crisis.

The official version, authorized by the finance minister Jacques Necker, was published by Baudouin.
