Notes

In the preface, the translator compares the French Revolution to some of the greatest moments in Roman history. Praises the French for their courage. Comments on Mirabeau, whose productions he calls extremely unequal. Considers this work nevertheless to be of historical significance as a source on the activities of the National Assembly. Translator has added a small number of explanatory notes.
