Rabaut was a moderate revolutionary, but the prorevolutionary stance of his History could be perceived as radical, as illustrated by a review of the 1794 New York reprint in the American Minerva (excerpt in The age of reason, New York, 1794, p. 199). Review in the New Annual Register, vol 35 (1792), p. 265. Identical reprint in 1793.
