Notes

Mandar's work on insurrection is heavily involved with the work of English republican thinkers (Harrington, Milton). The last six chapters are extracts from the 1702 French translation of Sidney's Discourses on Government. The overall aim is to justify insurrection against unfree governments. The work, furthermore, contains several prefaces and a number of shorter works by Mandar.
