Notes

Napoleon reportedly admired this play, which was successfully preformed (38 times in 1805) and went through several reprints, and gained Rayounard membership of the Académie Française in 1807. Rayounard followed it with a collection of historical documents entitled Monuments realtifs à la condamnation des Templiers, published in 1813 and attached to later editions of the play.
