Notes

A 2nd edition with considerable additions was published in 1784 with Williams' name, following favourable reviews in the press. A 3rd edition was published in 1789 with a different title, by James Ridgway. Both these editions included material from a short-lived periodical edited by Williams called, The Friend of the people.
