Apprenticed in 1778 and made a master printer in December 1786. Published Le Censeur universel anglais (1776-88). Declared bankrupt in January 1789, along with his publishing associate Mlle Louise-Félicité Guinement de Kéralio. Fled to London for forging a signature, then resumed his publishing activity in 1791.
